Susan Lueck
Susan began oil painting when only 10 years old. Her life long love for the oil paints ad Impressionism is captured in her work. She lived in Indiana much of her life moving to North Carolina in 2005 where she enjoys both her mountain studio and flowers.. These are often part of her paintings. "Flowers evoke great joy to me and stimulate my creative talents," Susan says.
After graduating from Miami University with a BFA in Graphic Design Susan worked for Paton Art Studios as a designer/illustrator. While living in Paris she studied art at the Academie Julian painting with Heri Goetz at l"Academie de la Grand Chaumiere, and print making at the studio of Johnny Friedlaender.
Susan and her husband Bob have lived on 4 continents and traveled to over 60 countries. These experiences often inspire her subject matter. She loves experiencing painting outdoors feeling the lights, hearing the sounds and seeing the true colors. This challenges her to capture it all on a canvas to be forever enjoyed on any wall.
"I try to paint God's wonder and beauty as I sense in nature. Paintings should capture attention and entertain ones eyes and mind" Susan states. Her love of color vibrates in her work, creating a space where one can escape the daily pressures and experience a peace and joy.
